“Arpit Sinha” is the person who is himself an immense source of strength and power. Even after being affected with a congenital case of spina bifida and 1996, his immense love for making a difference to the world through his writing didn’t change. He is an epitome of strength and a marvellous outcome of “Do not give up and follow your dreams” attitude.
We from P.A.M wish him immense strength and success!
We had a chance to interview him to know him better and to celebrate his strength. Here in this post, we bring you the courageous and the most noteworthy writer we’ve had come across in April 2018: Arpit Sinha..!
“Up’n’Personal” in his own words..!
Q1.WHEN DID YOU FIRST REALIZE WHAT YOU WANTED TO BE?
It all transpired rather inadvertently in what appeared back then (2006) as a series of unfortunate mishaps that had stymied my career aspirations. Three years down the line, I was certain that I was meant to be a writer, albeit in varying capacities. The year was 2009.
Q2. WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST MOTIVATION?
To be able to disrupt the status quo, initiate conversations that matter, boycott the perennial comfort zone and hopefully make an indelibly positive difference in someone’s life.
Q3. WHAT ACCORDING TO YOU MAKES A GOOD STORY?
In my opinion, a good story is one that is fluid, has a compelling narrative, is embedded with layers of realism and human psyche and not necessarily has a definitive ending.
Q4. IF YOU COULD TELL YOUR YOUNGER SELF ANYTHING, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Shun from what is comfortable and grab opportunities with both hands.
Q5. WHAT WOULD YOU WISH TO SUGGEST OTHER YOUNG PROFESSIONALS OF YOUR FIELD?
Avoid distractions and negativity, stay focused on what inspires you most and keep persevering till you reach your first milestone – and build from there.
Q6. WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR IDEAS FOR YOUR WORK?
People around me, TED talks, Youtube, Google Scholar (articles, white papers documents etc)
Q7. WHAT IS ACCORDING TO YOU YOUR BIGGEST ACHIEVEMENT?
The ability to say no to something I do not believe in, regardless of how enticing that proposition appears.
Q8. WHAT DOES YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS SAY ABOUT YOUR WORK?
Honest, critical and encouraging
Q9. HOW DO YOU THINK YOUR WORK CAN INSPIRE YOUR READERS/VIEWERS?
By inviting them to engage in meaningful conversations about topics that matter, particularly anything relating to content because I believe that everything we consume is content in some form.
Q10. WHAT YOU WANTED TO BE WHEN YOU WERE YOUNG? HAS IT CHANGED?
I wanted to be a pilot when I was younger. Yes, it has changed owing to my realizations of my physical/medical constraints.
Q11. DO YOU HEAR FROM YOUR AUDIENCE MUCH? WHAT KINDS OF THINGS DO THEY SAY?
Sporadically; they ask questions that are of interest to them.
Q12. DO YOU TRY MORE TO BE ORIGINAL OR TO DELIVER TO READERS WHAT THEY WANT?
A little bit of both, but more of the latter.
Q13. DO YOU VIEW WRITING AS A KIND OF SPIRITUAL PRACTICE? IF YES, THEN KINDLY ELABORATE.
Yes, most definitely. Writing to me is a deeply cathartic process that inspires me to transcend self-imposed and nature-induced barriers and look to maximize my God-given potential through an outlet which is essentially an art form more than anything else.
Q14. IF YOU DIDN’T WRITE, WHAT WOULD YOU DO FOR WORK?
Counsel young children and/or engage with a cause that is close to my heart.
Q15. DO YOU GOOGLE YOURSELF?
No. : )
Q16. WHAT IS THE MOST UNEXPECTED THING THAT HAD EVER HAPPENED TO YOU WHILE WRITING/BLOGGING?
Created a few enduring relationships (mostly positive) that have created a major impact on my life and thought process, especially through my association with ClassyWriteups.
Q17. DOES A BIG EGO HELP OR HURT WRITERS?
Ego hurts everybody because it prevents from learning and growing; hence, I strongly believe that egos’ must be hurt and eventually, crushed.
Q18. WHAT ARE THE ETHICS OF WRITING THAT YOU STRONGLY BELIEVE IN?
Ensure conformity with client requirements, undertake original research from credible sources, avoid the tendency to paraphrase texts or ideas and deliver what is asked of me, with my own take interspersed somewhere in between. Give originality, conformity to client requirements and the focus on publish-ready content.
Q19. HOW DO YOU THINK YOU CAN MAKE OUR WORLD A BETTER PLACE WITH YOUR WRITINGS/BLOGS?
By writing about engaging topics that cater to a large audience (and avoiding the tendency to write for the sake of writing to get views – what I call the breaking news syndrome), offering actionable and data-driven insights and hopefully change mindsets – one person at a time.
Q20. IF YOU HAD TO DO SOMETHING DIFFERENTLY AS A CHILD OR TEENAGER TO BECOME A BETTER WRITER AS AN ADULT, WHAT WOULD YOU DO?
Read more and explore different genres, even those that do not excite me. Open your eyes and mind to everything and anything because you never know what the future holds!
